Middlezoy Rovers F.C

Taunton & District Saturday League

PRESS OFFICER REPORT.

Well we didn't let the weather beat us as the long season finally came to an end.
Middlezoy came out as top dogs winning by a big margin in the end. Consistency was the key with Zoy only losing once and a twelve point winning margin.
Consistency was the missing ingredient for the rest. But Bishop Lydeard did well enough to finish runners up.
Woolavington had a season to forget finishing well behind the rest,
Redgate and Watchet will join the top division next season after both navigated a tough second division. Porlock Reserves going the other way.
Castlemoat walked division three, North Curry clinched runners up albeit some 15 points adrift of Moat who notched up 130 goals in a memorable season.

Taunton Town, Bishop Lydeard and Minehead hosted some very evenly contested cup finals.
Morganians triumphed in the League knock out cup, winning 1-0 against Bridgwater Sports Reserves. North Curry won the Seward Cup
Westonzoyland needed penalties to triumph in the Rowbarton Charity Cup this after a 0-0 draw with Bishop Lydeard.
Ash Rangers won the Somerset Rose Bowl, a 2-0 success over Wembdon.
And no season would feel right without a trophy for Bridgwater Sports. This time it was their Colts who triumphed with a 1-0 win over Redgate in the Gardener Security Trophy.
Middlezoy fell just short in the Somerset junior cup. Losing in the final 2-0 against Frome Collegians.
Watchet Reserves took Peasedown to extra time before going down 3-1 in the intermediate cup final.
